Persecuted Heros

I have incredible respect and admiration for any person who is willing to lose everything to fight for truth and justice so they can better the lives of others. Edward Snowden who sacrificed his whole life to expose the fact that the government has been spying on its own civilians and taking away their civil liberties, and Bradley Manning who exposed the crimes of the military butchering innocent civilians and children and was detained in confinement for 1000 days because of it are real life heros.

They went against laws and rules and followed their moral obligations to expose the corruption that fills our world. They are trendsetters like the many that came before. They are an ideal and an inspiration that many should want to aspire to be and follow, because if everyone were like them the world will change drastically for the better. For history has shown us that these persecuted heros are the ones who have made the biggest change in the live of many, and have etched their mark in time.

I have learned to value moral obligations because of them. For if I see injustices I will speak out even if it is against the norm or law.
